39degreesnorth > Jökulsárlón is a glacial lagoon that began to form in 1934 when the icecap Vatnajokull started to retreat. Chunks of the glacier Breidamerkurjokull (part of Vatnajokull) calve off into the lagoon and stay there until they are small enough to make a break for the ocean.

This was one of those places where I just couldn't stop taking pictures. Unfortunately, I like almost all of the pictures I took, so bear with me here. :)
